Hello, and welcome to The Globe! In this newsletter, we will examine moments throughout history: the forgotten, the overlooked, the puzzling. We’ll investigate history’s mysteries and bring bygone happenings out into the spotlight. We’re going to prove that history matters.

Occasionally, I will also send out a “Good News” post. Too much of the news lately is doom and gloom, so this special post will focus on a uplifting story.

The goal of this newsletter is to increase people’s knowledge of the world outside their doors, past and present. With your help, I’m sure we can achieve this.

Please note that, since I am a high schooler, my publishing schedule for the summer is going to be different than the rest of the year, where will I have school and homework. This is also a new newsletter, so expect organization changes - recently, starting in March, I did a complete overhaul of my content, deviating from modern news to historical topics that pique my interest - and hopefully, yours.

About the Author

My name is Reed, and I am the primary writer and managing editor of this publication. My passions are history, politics, reading, and, of course, writing. As I have said, yes, I’m only a high schooler, but don’t let my age get in the way of trusting my reporting. All my work is backed by fact-checked, heavily reputable sources like Reuters, The New York Times, Foreign Affairs, and the CDC. If you click on any underlined sentences or phrases in my writing, it will take you directly to the site from which I got (or quoted, if it’s in quotation marks) the information. This ensures that, if you want to learn more or proof my story, that option is there.

Contributors

From time to time, I may have aspiring writers aside from myself write a post or two for my newsletter. Previously, the primary contributor is Ragavan, who occasionally published posts about California news and US economics. Hopefully I can increase the number of contributors in the future.

Why subscribe?

Subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and website. Never miss an update. Paid subscriptions are open, but I will not put a paywall on any of my work - even the comments. Paid subscriptions, rather than a requirement, will be more of a donation; a way to support the continuation of this work. I don’t require of it, but always appreciate it.

Stay up-to-date

You won’t have to worry about missing anything. Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox. If I publish the post too late, you might not get the notification, so please check your archives! If you still aren’t finding my posts, then they may be in your spam folder.
