During my short stint as a newsletter author, I have done my best to remain optimistic. Unfortunately, today - when I would ordinarily publish my “Good News” post - I feel that bright outlook slipping away from me. Why? I think we all know the answer: the world can be a pretty awful place. Every time I look at the news, I can find something disheartening. There’s the Ukrainian War, the chaos in Sri Lanka, the desolate US political landscape, American gun violence, Africa’s many woes, Middle Eastern conflict. It’s too much, too fast. It can feel like you’re drowning.
Good News…..a smile on your grandchild’s face, a wiggly tail wag from your furry friend, sunshine peaking through the clouds, finding a ripe strawberry hiding in your garden, sometimes it is just a collection of small things that become Good News for the day.
